Intention :

Granital, a short piece for nine instruments (clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, accordion, harp, guitar, mandolin, cello and double bass), was commissioned by the gmem-CNCM-Marseille for the ensemble C Barré.

The group of plucked strings has, in part, determined the development of this music, which is intended to be nothing more than an “interior world” and whose sound may have something of the granite, hence the title. If some instruments stand out here and there, they soon join the ensemble, appearing only as evanescent flashes.

Granital, which was composed in the early months of 2012, is dedicated to Ensemble C Barré.
